Who is Newport Art House?

Staff and Board:

Newport Art House is a nonprofit organization run by founding director Tracy Jonsson with the help of a talented team of board members and community partners.

Tracy is a teaching artist, collaborator, and community activator. She got her B.S. from Roger Williams University in historic preservation and has a deep understanding and appreciation for Newport, RI, it's artists, and it's no-profit community. She teaches at many of the organizations Newport Art House collaborates with, including but not limited to: FabNewport, the Jamestown Art Center, the Newport Art Museum, Bridges Inc., and other organizations. As part of her work with Newport Art House she shares any opportunity for practicing artists to participate in commerce, proffesional development, and community events through the NAH facebook page, like it to get connected, or submit your email at the "mailing list tab" above.

Tracy can be reached by emailing tracyjonsson@newportarthouse.org.

Newport Art House is not a brick and mortar place, but it is our place. Our board, community, friends, and neighboring organizations collaborate to create change and promote inclusiveness in the arts.

Did you know that Rhode Island is gearing itself up to become the next arts destination in New England? Now you do! In 2015 state entities conducted a study to measure the economic impact of the arts, and they've found it to be a very favorable return on investment: the impact study is due to be published by RISCA the summer of 2017. As a community we are gearing up for a future where the arts are not only one of the many reasons, but a significant one, that people live and visit Rhode Island.
